Pulled an 800PRS and replaced with this unit. Need BT and did not want to purchase separate module, given the problems and limitations I had with the USB module I had purchased. Was running four coax, with use of a JL 300/4V2 amp.
With this new unit, had it installed by Co I purchased the head unit (cheap, cheap). Not happy with the sound, somewhat strident with nowhere near the definition and even potential sound of the sub (a JL as well). Now, could be simply the difference between the two head units, but I'd like to check out the wiring in the next week to see how they have things hooked up. To that end . . .
The 710 has three separate L/R outputs for front, rear and sub, as well as the DIN cabling if no separate amp is used. The 300 has two sets of inputs, front and rear. What would be the best setup for these components?
Sound rather naive and it is; I don't and haven't set up car audio much. I found the 800 easier to set up and with time aligned, voila . . . all was done and nice. This one is puzzling me as I'm not certain if a combo of the DIN cabling with discrete outputs + internal settings of the HU produce perhaps the best sound.
thanks
