Deepressing.

depends the glue used if you can just cut it off. alot of subs these dayz have a heavy bead of ca glue around the dust cap.

what i do is cut a hole in the center of the cap and leave about 3/4-1" all the way around of the dust cap still inplace. next if there isnt ca glue, make a slit to the cone, peel it up and tuna can it off.

if there is ca glue trim the cap close to the cone and use a bigger dust cap. my 2 cents....

no they aernt, buy a 2ch class a/b and bridge it
Yeah, that's what I've been trying to do. But, even still, they're pretty costly. Although, I think I have an offer for an amp that produces about 300W @ 8-ohms for like $75. But, that's still not 600w.

Well, I'm not reconing. I'm just trying to see if there's something underneath the dust cap... so drilling a hole isn't something I can really do.

I would drag that razor on the inside of the glue line right next to the dust cap
Word. But, to glue it back on, do I put the cap back ontop, put a bead of CA glue around then put weight on the top of the cone?

Word.

For some reason he keeps insulting me with no real basis. It's doesn't really bother me, though. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

i wasnt talking drilling a hole i was talking about cutting a hole with a razorblade about 3" in the center of the dust cap and replacing it. you dont have to recone to just replace a dust cap.

try rusty method because i DOUBT they used ca glue on the dust cap of that sub. probley some type of rubbery glue...

Oh, my bad. I understood it wrong.

But, yeah. It looks like it's a type of rubber melt onto the cone because it's not linear.

There is if you only have one of them... Amps that can produce 600W @ 8 ohm are expensive as hell.
I have at least three old school amps that will produce 600 watts RMS or more @ 8 ohms without even breaking a sweat. The money you get from selling one of your kidneys might be enough to sway me to sell one. Then again, it might not:laugh:

Yeah. I mean, that's the main problem, I think. Most drivers back in the 90's and what not, were all higher impedence... now all the stuff is like 1/2 OHM STABLE!!! and what nots. The car audio industry has really weighed off of high-impedence drivers, so it's hard to find amps for them... and when you do they're either mad expensive... or mad expensive.
