when we pull caps we drag a razor lighly around the cap the use a pick tool to pull it up, it will sometimes take the top layer of paper with it but just whats under the cap. wont affect the sub then clean the cap up and glue it back down,

That outer part goes in, then cuts at a right angle, and goes up to the top of the dust cap. It kind of looks like a melted goo or something.
