Deep Cycle Batteries Worth It?

WHAT'S UP......

I was comparing the optima, stinger and the lightning audio deep cycle batteries to complement my H.O. alternator. Does anyone know if they are worth the $ and if they are even necessary if the alternator is a H.O. Do they make a difference at all with the bass or things like that........//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

So, if i want to run any of the following:

Pioneer 4 ch for speakers

for subs:

1 Crossfire VR2000D

2 Crossfire VR1000D

1 Lightning Audio X1.2000.1D

2 Lightning Audio X1.1000.1D

2 JBL BP1200.1

So, any way you look at it, 2300+watts

If my stock alternator is 140AMP, could i just get a Optima battery and be fine, or would i need 2 Optima Batteries, or a bigger alternator?

Current = (Power) divided by (Voltage)

(2300 watts) divided by (14.4 Volts) = Current

Current = 159.7 amperes

That assumes that your amplifiers are 100% efficient, which they most likely are not.
I dunno...140 amps is a **** big alternator...tough call.

Get one......they run about $150 for the 1000cca optima red or yellow tops and it will make a huge difference. however, if you're running two of those beasts, you'll need at least a 200a alt if not more (the 1200.1 draws about 110a in two ohm, so i'm thinking you'll need about 250-275 amps to run everything)

your electrical system is the foundation to your system, if you skimp on it, your affecting everything, HIgh quality RCA's, high power aftermarket alternator, large guage power and ground and speaker cableing, deep cycle or gell cell batteries, and even capicitors are the key to getting the most out of your system, and even if it is more than you need right now it gives you the headroom for upgradeability in the future //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif :D
