Deep bass in a mountaineer/exploder.

I got a 01 mounty and im doing an old school install with two jbl gt 15's and two jbl gts 100 amps. The box is rec'd specs with 8 cubes at 27 hz. Now ive heard that subs up port back does good on the meter, but i want deep response, so should i fire the subs/port back or keep it subs up port back like most?

I think subs back port back gives deeper bass in an SUV/Wagon. It does to my ears at least.

That's what ive been hearing, but never in person. Im not going for spl in any means.

i was a ported guy till i got a seal box made

HUGE differance in daily set up

im much more happy with the sound and it gets lower and louder than ported boxes i had

these subs are rec'd for ported. Im going for loud and efficient, 200w sealed aint gonna do much, so its gonna be ported.

These subs have low xmax and are like 18 years old. Thats why, i have had many sealed AND ported enclosures.
