Dedicated Mid-Bass Drivers... Q's

Hey all, I am wanting to install some 6" Mid-bass drivers in my rear doors, which are only a couple inches back of the front seat.... but I am wondering what some REALLY good Free-Air mid-bass drivers would be, or sealed I suppose in a small enclosure...

you could do type-x woofers

i ran dedicated midbass drivers in my rear doors for a while, and if they outperform your front drivers, it's quite unpleasant, imo

very distracting to have your soundstage jump from front to back on basslines

I have the JL ZR 6.5" Components and a 13W7 ported in the back....But I mean the highs kick butt, the sub kicks butt, but there is just something missing in between... I can hear it when i have my components on full range, but then I can turn it very loud... so I need somethign that will make up that space of sound that seems to be missing...

it's worth a shot.....

if you don't like it, at least you'll have some kick-*** midbass drivers you could use to do a full diy setup in the future

i'm sure it depends on the music you listen to, your seating position, etc. etc. or maybe you're not even as picky

it wasn't a HUGE detraction from the music, it was just noticeable enough to draw my attention to it

I wouldn't place them behind you in the rear doors unless you have extensive processing capabilities.

I would find a way to place them in kicks, or move your current comp set to the kicks and place the dedicated midbass in the door.

Or, you might be able to work with your current setup and find a little more midbass output in them. How are they installed?
