Ok I know these threads get tiring and all but I have been doing alot of research on these boards lately for a good comp set. So basically I have ruled out RE components, Infinity Components (had the Kappa's, liked them but want an upgrade), and JL's (was never thinking of JL's anyway. I dont like any of JL's stuff.... too much hype) Anyway so I was thinking CDT, Focal, MB Quarts, Rainbow (hard to find a dealer), and DLS. My price range for an online store should be around $300-500. I am liking the CDT line but so many choices. Same thing with the MB Quarts. Im looking for a silk tweeter too. Oh yeah and 6 1/2 inch only. Please point me in the right direction... Cheaper (with these companies quality isnt cheap), the better. Almost.

Oh and of course they will be amped.

Whats so good about DLS, The Sound quality?

At low volume? The specs show they dont take much power.

Will a set of DLS 6.5 components in the $300 to $500 range be loud enough to keep up with a 1000 watts of sub,, amped at the max rms? ???? hummm

if they are, maybe thats the one's i'm looking for too!

Yeah see I am needing something that can take some power. Ill be running 1000-1200 watts just to my subs in a ported box. Right now im currently running 500-600 to just one sub now.

Definitely take a good look at the DLS Iridiums. Extremely nice speakers. Tplaya07 can hook you up with them.

Oh I also ruled out the Kicker SS components.. I was bidding on some a couple weeks back but then I talked to a guy at a car audio place and he had some in his car but he had relocate the tweeter like a coaxial... I asked why and he went in the back and brought a new case out.. the mounting depth was like, 2 1/2 inches!

The iridiums can take 180rms...

Yes they will keep up with a 1k sub.. No prob..

Utopia's take 200rms MAX.. They make you go deaf son..

What's wrong with it? A lot of people prefer the sound of a paper cone.

I just figured that since it cars come from the factory with a paper cone and 90% of aftermarket speakers come with aluminum, poly carbonent, polykevlar, ect... then I figured it was for a reason.

Aha, I see.. Ok good deal. I would love to have the Utopia's but still out of my price range. Any of these you pefer supurb on your list?

It's basically going to come down to personal preference. All of those are pretty awesome performers.
