Ok so I've gotten the bug to mod my new car(1018 miles as of today lol). I've had it for 2 weeks and I've already modded the tailights to where the inner and outer lights light up when you brake, mazda didn't do it stock for some reason. There is a bulb there, there is a hole for the wire but no wire.

Anyway, I've ordered PIAA Spark 8000K headlights and foglight replacements and now I'm between options. They are as follows and I'm just curious what you guys would do:

1) Driving upgrades-

Eibach sport spring kit- 240

GT Spec strut tower- 180

Progess Racing rear sway bay- 160

Total- 580

benefits: would lower the ride 2.0front/1.5" back and increase spring rating by 20%. Also the strut/sway bar should improve cornering and general driving.

2) Looks upgrade:

Eibach sport spring kit- 240

Enkei EV05 18"s- 1200-1300

Total: 1440-1540

*If you have other rim suggestions do tell as i'm open to suggestions.

3) Performance Upgrade:

AEM CAI- 250

Custom headers, 3" downpipe, 2.5" tips exhaust- 850-950

Total: 1100-1200

So my totals are close on the looks/performance but much lower for the drivability option. The driving also get's half the looks upgrade done and I'd just need rims. So i'm looking for 1) options on rims and 2) what you guys would do first. I personally am leaning heavily towards the driving part as I can get most of the under the hood shit that I'd do done all at once.

it's a 5 door hatch which is 70lbs heavier than the normal sedan. i had a speed6 for about 5 days and had to return it b/c it had 3 different issues and 2 of them were factory recalls. I didn't feel like being without my car for the 25-35 days mazda said it would take to get the parts from japan. then i fell in love with that color and the car so i bought it.

 
it understeers to much on sharp turns right now. that's my reason for wanting to upgrade the handling.

You're gonna do them all eventually right? Just start with what you think it needs more of..which you said handling so go with #1 then performance then looks. That's the way I would do it.

 
going with a similar list myself. first things for me are clear corner lamps, tint, and i have a H&R Touring Cup Kit to go on next week (thinking about saving some cash and getting the new eibach coils direct from VW though.) Next up will be some 18's from Tire Rack and then i'll start with audio and performance upgrades.

 
Honestly? I'd have to go with looks...I'm all up on performance, but it would take a lot of money to make that kind of car fast...it's just not built for it. Might as well leave it as it is performance-wise and focus on making it look nice.
