Well got bored this past week and went and bought the materials to make me another set of panels for my 93 ranger extended cab. This will be my 2nd fiberglass project. Making the new ones hold 2 6.5s instead of 1 like my last set. Also makin them part of the door instead of pods like the last time as well.

Started off the same as last time buy cutting out the lower pocket on the door...didnt take a pic of the new panels but heres a pic of the old ones during this step:

The carpet piece up top im experimenting with. Last panels i glassed over it and molded it in the door. This time i took it off the door, stripped the cloth and foam off and plans are to get Fraze to cut me some MDF frames to house a logo etched on plexi also will be getting this from Fraze too.....Not sure which comapny but i might just do DC Sound Labs on one and Sundown on the other....will also put LEDs behind them. Then lass em onto that plastic panel.

The next step of just getting the frame work done:

Next was stretching the fabric. had to rearrange the rings due to clearance issues:

Ill hopefully get this one resined and matted up tomorrow so i can start on the other side.

had a lil audience whilei was cutting everything off and out:

More pics to come so stay in touch with the thread

Looking good, I plan on making some door pods but I am not sure if I want to try fiberglassing. I may look into building some and wrapping them in vinyl or some sort of upholstry,

Cool looking Boxer, they are great companions

Nice...can't wait to see what they look like when finished! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

This will be a long project im afraid. Still gotta buy body filler, 2 matching sets of comps to go with the panels. But also only gettin 2 afternoons a week to work on these doesnt help much. Plans are to have my system COMPLETELY the way i want it (new box, new 4 channel, XS batt up front, Panels completely done, custom center console, and outside of truck along with wheels painted by my birthday which is May 12.)

Little update: Got 2 layers of matt layed out and resined. also got all the edges sanded down and the speaker holes cut out. **** grinding stone flew apart on the dremel while shaping up the holes, thank god it didnt hit me. Plans are to work on the other panel tonight after work...hope to at least get the speaker rings mounted maybe get the fabric stretched too.
