decided to go with the IS300

oh and the *****ing i had to listin to about insurance was enough for them just to buy the car. with all my tickets, i have 2 points left on my license, an insurance for me alone every 6 months on this car is $1,238. they werent happy to find that out but whatever..

well your lucky with a clean record and no wrecks my insurance still is right at $1,000 for a pickup with a little v6 and i've got a crapload of discounts. just goes to show the difference from state to state i guess

you are *****ing about 1,238 for 6 months. I pay 1,500 and its not even under my name. And its a Sentra. 4 cyl. I do have an at-fault though. Totalled a Civic.

And I had a buddy who for a year was paying $700 a month in insurance for a Civic Si.

Edit: After reading post above, I have to agree it does depend on where you live. I assume you (OP) lives in a state with public auto insurance. States/Provinces **** that only have private insurance. My buddy who lives in Alberta is paying 90 a month and has 5 tickets, only 1 with points i think though. Ontario where I live doesn't have public insurance, though I wish they made it available, be nice.

Ok, well, my opinion got revised, this isn't nearly as bad after I just met a girl whose parents own Dillons. They bought her a porsche 911 carerra, a ferrari 360 modena, and a bentley for her 18th birthday. And when her grandparents die, she inherits a jet and 5 of the houses they own.
dillons as in what?

Dillons is a decently big chain and I'm sure that they have alot of money, but I highly doubt they own several islands and multiple private jets. I grew up in NYC and a girl i used to date was good friends with Amanda Hearst. Even their family only had a single private jet which was very rarely ever used and they owned a single small island in the Caribbean, which they rented out most of the year to bring in extra $$. Btw if u don't know who they are, look it up their family worth is in the multiple billions.

I'm not saying they don't have these things you say, but I just highly doubt they have multiples of each one.

Hah. They do. The family you know sounds a bit stingy... But islands start around the 1 mil mark, and go up, private jets, 10 mil, it's definitely possible.

I was hitting on that girl like no other. Didn't get me anywhere though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

thats just weird cause its my name, anyway yea girls with daddys in the grocery store owning business seem to be doing pretty well, i met a girl down at the beach and her dad owns like 7 IGA grocery stores around south carolina, needless to say there pretty ballin, i mean its nothing like this girl you talk of but she still just turned like 16 this past year(i would pass her for 20) and her birthday present was a BMW 328i fully loaded @ $63,000, owning at least i would say 2 mil dollar house at the beach, thats just ONE of the many houses they have. i mean you know the drift-daddy drives a brand new Porsche, mommy has the most ballin denalli ive ever seen in my life, sister drives a new rang rover-$100k+ dollars fishing boats. and on top of that, shes just fuc*kin drop dead sexy

this^^ friend had one in high school when it first came out with two l7's in didn't get loud at all. Changed cars and kept the setup and sounded like totally different subs.
But overall they are nice cars not really my cup of tea. congrats

Something was wrong with the install....those cars (like most 'higher' end cars), tend to response to bass VERY well! Has always been the case in mine!

Did a build for a friend's IS300... 2 12" FI SSD, AP 1500D, Kinetik 1400 in trunk, and big 3. I think it was 3.6ft3 @ 34hz w/ 50in of port(around that box size) and it got pretty loud for a smallish box. With the seats folded down it did a 142.? @ dash.
Maybe you're a bit mixed up but NONE of the IS300's came with fold down rear seats....not one! All they have is a "ski pass".

hope you like the car
just bought an 05 cadillac sts V8 fully loaded minus heads up display and addaptive cruise control for 15k. twice the car and twice the engine!!
Twice the car!?!? Doubt it...maybe better but not nearly "twice the car". Twice the engine?!?!?!? LOL! Not many engines out there better than the 2jz-ge bro! Incase you didn't know, this car has the same engine as the Supra....just non turbo'd (2jz-gte for the turbo'd supra. The n/a supras have the exact same engine as the IS300). These engines are know to last forever and respond to boost better than almost any other engine out there. 450+ to the wheels is quite easy with most decent turbo'd kits....with minor, if any, engine mods....and they LAST! That Inline 6 is worlds better than that V8 in that caddy, sorry to say.

twice the weight, with 95 more horses than mine, 0-60 6 seconds sts. 0-60 6 seconds IS, it would be a good race, and yes this came fully loaded with stock nav. and all the goods. your pushing 320 horses and im pushin 225 with a in line 6 cylinder engine, still not bad.
Sup dennit. Sorry to have to correct you on your new car bro. But 0-60 is 7.1 seconds for auto IS300's and 6.9 for manual's. He'd leave you off the line....well, he'd leave you all the way through but still....not really comparing apples to apples. In the future when you're a LOT more mature, turbo it and leave em in the dust!!! Not many cars will beat IS300's on the highway turbo'd the right way. I see it all the time....Vipers, Lambo's, Vette's, Cobra's, etc etc get smoked by a "4 door sedan"!!! Amazing on the highway.

ALSO, you're "pushing" 'only' 215 hp to the crank (more like mid to high 180's to the wheels).

Anyone want to start a pool to see how long it takes for this one to end up in a ditch?
Sadly, I somehow see this being true. I HOPE NOT but it can get away from you. ONLY reason I don't have 2 IS300's right now is b/c my girl won't really let me get another (would be turbod) b/c she knows the power and how I tend to use it:emb: Came oh so close to buying a turbod one last spring. Thing was wicked fast, doing the quarter mile in 12.3 secs trapping at 119 mph! Would scare the $hit out of you how fast it would do 50mp to 120mph...basically a blink of the eye.

Anyway, mine has gotten away from me TWICE and luckily no major damage at all was done....just a small dent/crack in the bumper....that's it. Could've been a lot worse but it's been all fixed up so no worries. And honestly, I'm MUCH more mature than Dennit (not an insult just I'm amost 10 yrs older than you).

Rear wheel drive is fun. This car is FUN but I honestly don't think it's the car for teenagers. I smell trouble for tennies behind the wheel of a car like this.

that would be ideal if me and V were on good terms.
Thanks 96maxgle.

We would and will be on good terms if you ever decide to refund me the 2nd half of what I paid for the radio that's collected dust every since I got it from you from being useless:crap://content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif! Tell your parents to shoot me the other half since they've got money to blow:greedy:.

I could give you the complete run down on this car, inside and out, if you ever needed anything. Mine is a manual and is pretty modded inside and out. Pretty quick, sounds good and look good! LOWER IT! That alone on these cars will get you comments almost everytime you drive it!

Anyway, I'm tired, gotta run. Hop on http://www.my.is and become a member but don't expect to last there long acting like you do here. Gotta grow up fast over there! You'll learn A LOT and save tons of money with any and everything you decide to do with your IS300! Those guys have been there and done that with ANYTHING possible for this car!

Enjoy it and drive safely and respectably!
