Decided on woofers, now need speaker ideas for my vibe

Well, I drive a Pontiac Vibe to start. I have a set of DD 1508's coming soon along with a GNB Sprinter battery. My substage is pretty much complete once I get these woofers and install them.

I'm looking for some nice 6.5" speakers to place in the stock speaker grills to improve my front stage. I'm very new at installing anything other then new speakers and powering them via a head unit. I wanna run whatever speakers I choose off an amp this time so I can give them some real power. Any suggestions? I'm in need of ideas for speakers, an amp. I'm fairly knowledgeable about a crossover too, from my understanding I need one. Would someone mind explaining that? Oh, for reference if it makes a difference I listen to a lot of heavy stuff. I'm talking heavy. But I also listen to a lot of punk and heavier rock. I do enjoy a good amount of rap every now and then and hip hop too. So my interests vary. Links to stores online would be great, I'm looking to order off the web

You already started your build back words! Always start with a HU first and then build your front stage with components, then get subs to compliment the front stage.

Go to some local shops, take the music with you that you listen too and audition everything. get an ear for what sounds good to you. this will also help you decide what price range you are actually in. Listening to heavy stuff like metal you are going to want a smooth tweeter that doesn't make your ears bleed with all the cymbals and guitar leads and a tight 6.5" to give you that nice thump in the chest from the kickdrums. you will probably want a good clean 100w to 150 w per channel on your amp to run them as well, maybe even 200w.

No one can tell you what to get, what sounds like *** to one person may sound like heaven to another!
