oic ya the loudest gun ive ever heard was a 300 weatherby short mag, i was sittin in the back seat and my uncle shot out of the window at a deer and i didnt cover my ears, huge mistake... my ears were ringing the whole time i was in my deer stand later that day

Did it leave anything of the deer? Isn't that like a rhinocerous gun? I recall shooting something like that ages ago and the bullets were the size of carrots.

ya there deer had a huge exit wound, he hit it in the vitals too, but idk im sure you could use it for a rhino gun lol, he was paying around like 10 bucks or sumthing like that per shell. their fat as hell

You will be alright bro. I promoted 12 raves and attended over 500 in a 10 year span so I know that feeling. 20k - 500k for 4 - 10 hours had my hearing fcked up for up to three days sometimes.
Now my hearings not so good after this last few years of car audio. Ill always where plugs at any show or in any loud car.

I shoot my nine off but always with muffs... Btw, I'm trying to sell it but I cant find anywhere to list it.

I shoot a lot and never have a problem with no protection //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif But last week my right ear was ringing and I could hardly hear anything for 2 days. Shit hurt. Was shooting my .44 mag and .38 special btw

The .300 Wb mag is still a .30 cal bullet just like a 30-30, .308, 30.06 ext.

BUT, as you can see...it has a hella large case and extra powder capacity.

As far as rhinocerous's......I would use something bigger....

Kinetic energy is Mass * Velocity^2 I think a lot of people underestimate the effect of a bit more powder behind the same size slug.

I think people do take down elephants with them.

This is VERY true!

The only real issue with taking an elephant with a .308 dia. round is that, for the most part, the .308 rnds are not designed to pierce 6" of hide, mussel and bone and still be able to still have enough energy and mass left(of the rnd it self) to do any "killing" damage let alone stopping power.

BUT, all you need is one WELL placed round...

Now if that big azz elephant is running you down....I would MUCH rather have (at a min.) a .338 Laupa Mag or even better a .416 Rigby.

A 400gr 416 Rigby, although somewhat slow at 2500fps has well over 5000 ft lbs of energy. This round is one of the BEST dangerous game rounds there is. I have seen many charging Rhino's dropped with just one shot.

The thing with dangerous game is you need a round that can penetrate all of that tough hide, muscle and bone and stay together and hold enough energy to get to the vitals and cause the stopping damage. (and if the "dangerous" game is charging you...you may not have the time to place that perfect shot)

Most 30 cal rounds will have lost 90% of their energy and mass just getting through the hide and muscle of a Rhino. Even the bonded 30cal rounds will have lost most of their energy getting through all of that.

Is it forgiving enough having the double stage hammer fire? Or does the trigger pull feel too long and griddy.
Was thinking of either gettting the sr22 or the GSG 1911 .22.
first off. dont buy anything gsg. its all junk. and I am a competitive shooter so if the trigger doesnt go off with a pulse in my finger, its too hard lol. im not the biggest fan of the trigger, it is too long of a pull but it is still a fun gun to shoot.

GSG isn't junk, at least the 1911 isn't. I know many people who have owned and reviewed them compared to other .22 pistols. I know what's junk and what isn't. What firearms do you own?
