I want to deaden a Tacoma Double Cab.

What and How much do I need?

looking for a good cost benefit ratio and trying not to break the bank.

I will take your advice and then go from there.

It depends on what you're deadening. Do you just want to do your doors, or are you interested in covering the entire interior???

talk to "rudy" and "second skin rep" on here. They both have different approaches, both work. Talk to both and figure what seems the most cost effective to you.

only thing i am trying to do is kill some of the rattle so most of the waves go to the cabin.... i guess mostly the trunk lid??

Is it rattles or vibrations that you have?

Rmember they are 2 different animals and need to be treated with 2 different solutions.

Vibrations occure on a single resonating panel

Rattles occure when two panels resonate against one another

If you have vibrations, you need to use a damper to silnece them. Either a constraint layer damper or a coating will work well.

If you have rattles, you will need to isolate the panels from one another. You can use a number of different methods for this depending on the exact situation. Silicone, closed cell foam, old gym sock. Pretty much anything that keeps the panles from contacting one another.

Most people have vibrations, but call them rattles.
