yo, i have a 1508 in a 1cuft. box tuned to 34hz. it sounds great until i really give it some power and then i get the shit sound from it like its dirty or blown, but it's not. i have a rf punch 325.2 bridged powering it and i know it's underpowered but it still flys with the bass boost up. is the box too big? it's really pissing me off any advice would be nice!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/furious.gif.fc81ca146dbff91fede3ed290dbc4f4c.gif

That's probably a bad idea.

hey guys, when youre clipping your amp it sounds like shit, dirty bass right? when you bottom out it makes a whole different sound i'm familiar with, how about when you turn up the bass, then it makes more like a mechanical sound like i can't describe. it seems to have gotten worse over time but the suspension isn't shot, still pretty tight. i thought it was the amp clipping but it sounds more mechanical. any help please!!

DD1508's are VERY over-motored and can be picky about the box they like.

They will bottom out very fast in the wrong box.

I like to go around 0.75cuft tuned around ~38hz.

Also, they like to be loaded against a wall or the floor.

Try a loading wall ~3-4" away from the sub.

Hmm, do you think a pair in a 1997 Civic Coupe would load well in the trunk up against the rear seats but pointed towards the license plate OR should I rethink my build?

I was thinking of doing two 1508 S4s in 1.5 cubes tuned to 40 Hz and giving them about 1,100 watts RMS.

Regardless, the dd1010 that I currently have is kicking *** and taking names!
