DD 95xx vs. MT

The DD is def what I'm leaning towards. I'm wanting something with a lot of output that is still musical. But I will miss the lows that my 10 hit.

It almost scared me when I first played a sine sweep on how low it played.

Both subs are great. It really depends on the application of the subwoofers. Some will claim the DD is louder...but others will claim RE is louder and both parties have tested both subs. Neither are wrong. It all depends on application.

For Street Application in most vehicles...DD9500's or DD9900's seem to do better. However...for lower frequency vehicles like the ford explorer...the MT does better. Also...if you properly: knowing how to take advantage of the subs. The MT will get loud but are supreme power hungry. Team XS-SPL Deron did 153.1 on a first run with 1 MT 15 in a CRX. First of all...hardly anybody uses 1 15 in street B. But using the 15" will full power will have an advantage than pushing 2 12's with half potential power.

It's all about application. The ultimate question: Which sub is louder, particularly for you??

From what they will meter compared to what I listen to daily, 99.9% of the time I am lsitening and the other burping for a note...me, I'd choose RE any day over DD....then you'd get the best of both worlds....

I've used both, I've killed both....

personally... RE MT is a low frequency jackhammer... when ran daily..

it did things at low frequencies the DD just couldn't muster...

Well actually I already know what your answer is you can't really say other wise becuase of who you work for but what does everyone else think will take take the win between solo-x/mt/95xx for daily applications. no, re -read what I said...I said between the RE and DD, I'd take the RE, never mentioned the X at all..

That's one of the things I LOVE about my MT. It's a 10, and it KILLS a 26Hz tone...Never seen another 10 do that.

However, my main gripe is at the volume I listen to daily, you can definately tell it's a burp sub. I'm not the exactly looking for a perfect SQ sub, obviously, but I did hear that the 95xx series had more musical ability, and also had tremendous output. Hence my question.

In a street beat system in a car(half wall pending), which would sound better, but yet meter well in a comp(as I do compete regularly).

P.S.-I do love teh lows, but that's not all I'm looking for in a sub...

well I only have experience with the DD's, not the MT's...and I will say that my 9512's played low as crap. they were low end monsters for me. no complaints at all about the qualitiy of their subs. only bad part is the turnaround for recones. takes about 4-6 weeks to get em back //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif and it has been 3 weeks and 2 days for me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif and im waitin for my 9515's to get here, mm

Just becareful with using the MT for daily...no pole vent...and that means heating problems.
