I was just looking at the RE XXX, and i clicked on the T/S Parameters. I don't know much about this stuff, but i think the Xmax is how far the sub cone thing moves up and down, and the measurement is each way, right? and if i'm correct, the more air that's moved from the cone moving more, the more bass is put out?

"XXX 12" Quad 1.2ohm VC Info Sheet

TS Parameters

Fs 34.4Hz

Re 1.17 ohms

Qms 5.19

Qes 0.49

Qts 0.45

Vas 31.6 liters

Sd 480 cm^2

RMS 1600w

Xmax 38mm //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif

Dimensions

A 12.5in

B 11.0625in

C 7.5in

D 8.625in

E 4.375in "

and then DD 9500 series, "X-max with 8mm coil in gap - 29 mm each way"

both of these were copies and pasted from the website.

Hmmm....so what exactly are you saying? That it could reach it, but not until they redesign the woofer? Explain a little further please......

Thats cool, that pretty much tells me what I wanted to know. Does this mean you won't be testing it as planned?
yes.. the 12" model should be arriving either late this week.. or early next week..

there is a small discrepency in the xmag value, that I feel is best resolved by RE's themselves.. so feel free to email them on the matter..

Did they also tell you 2 weeks to wair for the sub???

Next years will reach 38 mm, and it will also be equiped with XBL2 technology. Same technology as in the Brahma. As of right now, id take the 9500 series, but next year, i dunno. The new XXX will prolly be up to par with the 9900 seires. Not sure yet though.
