DD 3515's

So are these subs more geared towards loudness or SQ? I have heard they are comparable to the RE SE's. I would think MT18 > 2 SE15's, but I dunno. I had 2 HC15's and they were a bit louder then the 18MT is, so I'm sure the DD's will be louder if they are the type of subs I think they are.

You'd probably be happier with a pair of DD9515's. The SQ and SPL are greater than the DD3500 by far. Look at trying to get about 2000watts per sub if you can.

Eh... I would do all this, but the reason I'm asking about the 3500's is because I can get a great deal on a pair.

Think they will out-do the HC 15's? Granted the DD's sould have more power...

i love DD.

go with the DD3515´s.

1500-2000 each for daily is OK.

build the box after DD specs. do NOT tune them much lower than 40Hz. i know what i am taking about, i tried several boxes on a 9915, 9515, 9512 with different airspace and tuning frequencies. all sounded louder, cleaner, more punchy with 40Hz tuning than 34 or 36. yes, even the low notes hit a LOT better with 40Hz. DD subs are not human and do not even try to simulate with a box calculating program. in car it wont work with them.

give them each 3 to 3.5 cubes net volume and a port 15-16 inch long, area matched to 40Hz tuning.

Heres my dd setup and the vid with tl number is on the realms site.

single dd3515 box 4.5 tuned to 38 in a large suv, orion 2500d and 3 bats total hit a 145.1 or .2 and that was not with really any playing around just threw the tl on it for a second to see what it did how it was. If you look for the vid is says something like VOA_NIGHTMARES 3515 and 2500d

Here are some pics compared to a 12w6v2 and a mtx rfl. And I can honestly say I was very happy with the dd much more then the rfl and the 12w6v2's I just loved and I think they are one of the best I have used. My 2 pics are the jls and the dd's out of the I cant even tell you how many setups I have done lol.

And just to tell you the kind of power it took that was a dual 1.0 and it was ran at .5 off the 2500d. I blew it up that night because I went to burp it and I slipped and hit the bass from -6 to +6 while turning it up. But that sub did impress the heck out of me, thats why the score is what its at because we didnt get anytime to play on the tl with it. That was my fault and I honestly think that sub would of ran fine, we played with it on music just to hear it for about 1hr then threw it on the tl.

Does it handle the 2500d daily? I am curious if I could throw 2k at a 12 daily.
That setup was at .5 so that was much more power then 2500 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

I personaly would try it but to be safe on your end I dont think I would run it daily cranked at that.

1500-2000 daily is OK for a 3500 if you crank it up wislely.

i had a 9512 hooked up to a 9.0 at full tilt with no kind of subsonic at all. it took the whole 9.0 even with late night tip. cranked up 100% the whole song. and was ready for more afterwards.
