dd 1500 series question

Yes, you will notice a HUGE difference going from the D1508 to the DD1510.

The DD1510's like lows MUCH better.

Going from the 8" to the 10", you will gain ~65% in cone area.

Try that DD1510 in 1.3cuft w/ a 20sq in port 22" long..they can be little monsters.

I actually did 2 DD1510d4's in a customers truck today. '98 ext cab silverado w/ no back seat. He had 2 CVR10's in another shops "custom" box before w/ a memphis 1100d. I built a simple 3cuft box w/ a ~48sqin port 22" long and ran the same amp. His dash moves on the lows now (30hz). He now could care less about kicker. The 10's do much better under tuning than the 8's....1508s tend to unload FAST.

yes the 1510 can take 1k. even the 1508 will take more than 1kyou may not notice a real difference to the ear but never know.
i would have to think that it would be a little louder just do to having more cone area

ups, iam slow at typing^^^^^^

Go for the 1510 and sell me your 1508 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

iam thinking of making a "fart box" just to see how loud i can get it in my bronco.

i noticed that(unloading fast) with the 40hz tuning so i added length to my port and now have it tuned around 35 or so and my net volume is now .98cuft. let me tell ya that brought the low end out in a way i would never have expectied out of an 8".

if you have 1k + on it before you get the 10 you should throw the 8 in

.5ft after disp @ 38-40hz

see what you think

You still having issues w/ unloading?

What amp are you running?

I have put single DD1508s in 0.75cuft and loaded the port off a side all w/ great results. That was only on 5-600wrms though. Customer was pretty happy w/ it.

Yep, try a smaller box.

0.5cuft will be pretty peaky, but it will handle more power.

Lows will not be there nearly as much.

What vehicle do you have?

now i have no issues with it unloading at all now with the the added port length. tomorrow i will be swaping out amps, going from a mtx 6500d to a mtx 81000d and adding a second battery. iam going to use the same box as well.
