I am currently running two DC lvl 4 10s with XL parts. I love the way they sound and how loud they got on my AB PH4000, but I have decided to try a single sub setup in my ranger. I could easily get 4ft^3 net volume for a box and even up to 6 if needed. I have thought about several different subs (AA mayhem, Sundown Zv4, etc.) but I really don't have any complaints about my DCs but other opinions are welcome.
My goals:
Play music well(metal, pop punk, and even some softer stuff)
Play well in 4-6ft^3
Get low and move air
Be able to go from tame to wild fairly easily
The XL is appealing because I've heard that it sounds better, but I have no experience with either. I will only be getting 1400-1600w to them for a little while, until I upgraded the alternator. For now I'm trying to see what I can do on the stock alternator and one sub. Anyhow thanks for the input.
