If you're going with an AQ1200D for power and have to stick between those two companies, I'd go with a Fi SSD. I have a MB Quart DSC1500.1D on a 15" Fi SSD and it sounds fantastic.

If the OP is concerned with lows also check out the Q, its ability to extend low with authority is crazy...

The people who say DD is the jl of spl are willfully ignorant and jealous. JL holds no records for anything. JL is not known to use the best parts available. JL is known to charge for their logo, while marking up the products outrageously. DD allows custom built drivers. They offer different coil options, cones, caps etc. The base product is right in line with the pricing of the other brands. DD will also entend to ~30hz if you design your enclosure to do so. You people should not talk about what you do not know. It makes you look very silly.

Can we argue about DD? If so I want in on this topic. I'm feed up with a lot of BS that they seem to have following them around.

Ur making some money or u would not be doing this.. I trust my dealer if he said it will have warranty then I trust it will he has never lied before to me. But thw owners of AA are pricks and would not allow him to sell to be since Im out of state so much for caring about ur dealers. All about money to them so they have forever lost a customer.

When a company has a dealer network they try their best to enforce rules to keep dealers happy. One of which is selling outside the area you have. Not sure why anyone would complain about that though.

I guess we can just kill off all dealers...seems that is what everyone wants with trying to "save a buck".

No where even remotely close to what you might be imagining. If people knew the amount of time per actual income, I would get slapped in the back of the head. Haha, not kidding.

 

Believe your dealer or believe the brand when it comes to warranty? As for out of state, that is their policy, have to take it up with them.

I understand that dustin but there is no dealer in my state and instead of helping out a fellow dealer in a differnt state they say no sry we dnt need ur money nor do we wanna help our dealers. Which is just flat out BS. I try to support a dealer but the manf does not want me to. It makes no sence so AA keep ur stuff and GL with ur sells But based on the attitude I got when I called them dnt expect much from them they just want max money and screw all else. FI over AA all day atleast FI is helpful AA are pure pricks yep I said it now what AA. U know I right U ow I called cause i raised hell. None the less you will be gone in matter of time.

Yea, their phone skills are not that great. I will admit that.

If there was no dealer around you what so ever or even remotely close, I see no issue with the sale. However, with SSA being an online dealer, I'm sure the decision to not allow that dealer to sell to you was based on the fact that you can just order from SSA.

Thats the line they feed me but I wanted to help the lil man not the net giant that can make it wothout my dollar. Dealers need sales to survice and AA does not care if they survive they just want max money. Guess what AA there is FI and they cost less and are just better, So good luck with ur high azzed prices and poor customer service. dealers need to drop them then I bet they get ther azz in gear.

I was merely saying their image not an actual subwoofer comparison. I'm sorry if you didn't like it but in my mind they both have a supreme imaging and have great selling points. DD is much better with it's engineering and materials but that is not what I meant by this...

They were protecting a dealer though. They were protecting SSA's rite to customers who do not have a dealer near them. I hate to say it, but I see nothing wrong with that.

I will take newer designed and more recent soft parts over a long milked up the *** line of subwoofer from jl. Even though I believe there is a slight improvement in them in the ae edition's.

They have their areas to sell in. That is how a dealer network functions to keep everyone happy. If you go out side those guidelines you end up with another auidobahn or planet audio issue on your hands.

DD's advances are....well interesting, but nothing ground breaking in most cases. Many are not even their break through. Many are the break through of a supplier of theirs. Other companies do something first..DD copies and does it a little better...then some one copies them and does it better...and thus a nice little cycle. DD does have some interesting and innovative work being done, but I would not say it is being engineered though. More like trial and error with out knowing much about the particulars that generate the results.

It would be like me designing and building a plane. I'm no aeronautical engineer, but I can bet with enough trial and error I would make a plane "function" with in reason.

Not trying to bash them what so ever. They have product that works and does great in the lanes. They get things done that need to be and manage to sell just about anything they want if it has a DD logo on it. lol
