i personally have never heard one, i just have a good friend who had one a while back and hated it. but other than that ive never heard anything bad on dd.

He did not have the proper box or power or amp. DD's are no joke when used properly.

ive ran dd and they dont like the lows under 32 hrtz very well , i run ascendant now and have for 4 years now and love them.but 1000 watts rms you'd need the havoc.the level4 loves smaller boxes as where the havoc's shine better in a bigger box.dd is very expensive and in my opinion not really worth the money especially when the when they raise the prices every 3 months,because of the nuthuggers.for the money you'd do better with ascendant or dc.fi is the sister company of ascendant and the parts are quite as good as ascendants.

Never knew that about fi and ascendant. Dd didn't really seem that much different in price Though. As far as comparing dc fi and dd. ascendant to me just by looking seems expensive. Because some guy that the kids get a hard on for is associated with the company the prices are outrageous. IMO.

dd prices are very outrageous ,iran some 3512's in my truck for a year ,could never hit 150 ,swapped out the woofers only[same box,wires and everything else] with some havocs and hit 150 every time,hence the king of cali sticker in my avatar.won that in competition in 09.now i'm hitting very close to 153 and will prolly get that score with in the next 2 weeks when my new amps come.still running ascendant woofers.in a chevy s10 extra cab ,no cut thru,or wall ,2-12's below the window sealed.

dd is the jl audio of the spl world. They make great drivers but the lowend does lack but at 38hz they are loud as ****.

DD's prices are a tad high but when buy DD you get the best parts money can buy. High quality = High money... Yes, there is mark up but thats no different then any other manf out there. As u can see I run nothing DD so not hugging no nuts. But the truth is the truth.

Fair enough. I just didn't think they were really priced much different than anything else. Seems to me ascendant was the oddball. However, now I'm wondering about dd. under rated? If I did an aq 1200 on a 2512, (which now that I looked again, comparing the 2512 to a lvl 3 or Ssd, dd is noticeably higher) anyway. Running an aq 1200 wouldn't be overkill for any of those subs? I'd like to go lvl 4, but I think after looking for amps I really like the aq and it won't run a lvl 4 properly.

Steve meade doesn't work for or own AA in anyway. I'd buy Fi if you worry about the prices of AA since AA is dealer based. And you really haven't said what your goals are so anything anyone has suggested is stupid.

A DC lvl 5 and a DD 9500 are priced right with each other so does that mean DC and DD both are overpriced junk?? I feel they are priced right where they should be for what you are getting.

I have not been on here for a while. havent really been all into the audio scene for a while. howver, i do have currently a 12 w0 and xd 300.1. went from a w7 to re se/x to a w0. Now im looking to upgrade again. I had a 15 q a few years ago, but it was to big for my car. however, it was bad *** when i tested it for a trade. I have never heard dc, but never heard anything bad. So im looking at a good daily driver that can get loud and low. I have been looking at the fi bl, dc lvl 3 or dc lvl 4. I cannot decide since as i said i dont have much experience with either other than the test on the 15 q. ANy input would be great, or even another sub recommendation along the same lines.

I think saying that im looking at a good dailt driver that can get loud and low was some indication of what i wanted. plus given the few ideas i was looking at. just saying.

Also, never said he worked or owned, simply said associated and gives kids a stiffy for now reason.

I would be rocking AA but the owners are danks and would not allow me to buy from an out of state dealer. So much for supporting their dealers I tried to but they want let you.. Good idea AA..
