DC Sounds LVL 4 15"

Well I got my 15" thurs, made a sealed box for it 2.75cuft and it sounds great!. Only problem, I miss my L7 for the loudness. Yes it sounded like crap, but i enjoyed more eyeball shaking lol.

No doubt the LVL 4 gets low and loud on some songs, but the sub is not producing good output towards music plus the excursion is at full tilt. Almost like 2.75cubes is too small for the sub. I see alot more potential in the woofer than this.

So I want to go ported. I like SQL more than I thought. What would you guys reccomend for a box? RF T1000.1 is running this beast.

The 15" lvl4 is actually a good sealed box sub, and specs show that it's more suitable to sealed boxes. Because of this, a slightly larger than normal ported box with a low tune(like 28-30hz) normally works well so long as vas is normal and not too low. But since you like a little more spl you can go with a slightly higher tuning. I'd shoot for 4.25-4.5ft^3 at 32hz, like stated previously.

Going with the small ported recommendations that DC has gives you a peak well above tuning and lacks low-end.

I ended up going with 3.25cuft tuned to 27hz. It sounds perfect. Exactly what I was aiming for.
