Well after 3 stock alternators, 3 iraggi (2 month spand), 1 BNR alternator(suprising had the most life out of all) and 2 Excessive Amperage alternators im at the edge..i will be ordering either an 315a DC alteranator or 300a mechman alternator this friday! if it craps out again im returning my maxima to almost stock form( alot of I.C.E) and buying an 1st gen blazer for my SPL needs..

Now i have been reading lately that Mechman has been slipping alittle on the last few alternators..and DC power doesnt have 1 bad review! It seems DC is the way to go because its 15 more amps and alittle cheaper...but i need everyones opinion on this one!

Without a doubt DC Power, Robby will give you the best customer service you have ever had. And the alts rock out with there **** out.

And if its cheaper then hell yes cus they do whats rated plus some, and there heat handling capabilities are ****ing amazing.

thats what i need!! that has been frying my other alternators..on a maxima the alternator is tucked under the front vavle cover..so theres alot of heat build up in that area..

DC gets my vote. Just slapped one on my Altima a few weeks ago...
looks like where running the amperage and kinda the same electrical

what was your voltage with the EA? and what is it with the DC? and what size alternator did you get from DC?

there is DC Electrial too with there power series alts. the one i used was a 250 amp benched local @271 amps i ran mine external voltage reg @17.8-18v, and my guy payaso got the 300 amp it did 327 amps. there very powerfull with a one year FULL warranty. mine was $275 shipped his was $325 shipped for the price and benched proof i think its a hell of a deal.

all yall that voted for DC, may i ask if yall have had a mechman alt also? if not then you cannot vote...

with that being said all i have used is a mechman alternator. so if i was you i would try finding someone that has used both, which will be pretty darn hard because both alts are great, all the ones ive used personally and sold to other people for mechman have been top notch, but all the reviews for DC have been top notch also.

you said your other alt problems was heat issues. i had a 2000 cougar that the alt was located on the bottom of the engine towards the back, so it recived lots and lots of heat issues and road debris, and moisture and never once had a problem with the mechman...

i dont know what where youve been reading the bad things about mechman alts but the only one i have seen is the one where the guy is having a problem with his car and not being the mechman seeing when he puts a stock one on it does the same thing

soo best thing i can tell you is try and find somone used both, or buy both try both out and tell us wat you think //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif lol (might be a lil $$$ tho) lol

have you owned a DC alt, if not then you cannot vote...

I was having issues with my engine getting hotter than hell like 205 on the block in my 02 Ford Taurus, the alt literally could have had an egg fried on it. It did not fail though, even though I was seeing 13.4 volts before my MLA module. Anyhow to reduce the heat I was seeing i put in a thermostat that was 30 degrees cooler than stock. Now Im good to go. So on top of what alt you get next I would replace your thermostat with a colder one and flush you coolant system that should improve things for you greatly.

Just get a DC power alt and call it quits. I guarantee that's the only alt you'll ever need to buy. No sense in having a debate with people that run mechman as well. I know DC right now makes the only alternators that put out the most amperage at idle.

DC is so far advanced its not even worth comparing the two. Let the facts speak for themselves. Call up Robbie and talk to him if you're not satisifed with the responses you get here.
