Dc level 4 vs. hdc3

That depends on your application..

Since it doesn't seem like you know what you're doing, i'm going to have to say they can take what they're rated for. If you're smart, they can take more.

 
So how would the hdc3 do on 2000W in a 2.5cu. box at 38hz?

would i have to be very careful are could it take it?

2 cubes would probably be better with that much power. Don't plan on sending a LV4 that much power...but a LV4XL could handle it just like the HDC3 can.
