Dc level 4 or Fi q ????

My 18" Q (same motor as the 12 I believe) with extra spider and cooling option just took a **** on recommended RMS power (SAZ1500D), dual battery setup, absolutely no voltage drops, gains set with oscilloscope... yada yada. Bought it in Sep 2011. I'm in the process of emailing Fi to see what they'll do to make this right. It looks like I will pay shipping there and Fi will cover the return shipping and repair costs, who knows though I'm still trying to get them to cover shipping to and from.. That being said, how Fi handles this will either completely win me over or turn me into a naysayer. I would like to officially cast my vote as "be cautious of the Q."

What do the coils read?

If they read higher than norm it's user error, if ya get a short then chances are it might be the coils glue wasn't applied properly when it was wound..

It's highly unlikely a clean 1600 would kill those coils..

I've seen subs rated 1k take 2 to 3x rated power on music because it's dynamic and a very clean signal..

On example is dd3500 and 2500..

One example I ran a 2512a off a rd 1750 giving it around 1400 on music..

My Fi Q took about 1800 for a couple days and only got a little warm, before i shipped it off to splaudio //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

btw i have mine in about 2.5 at 28hz and it destroyed the lows
