In the market for a new 12 just looking for some input with those who have experience with either. My main concern is power handling and which sub would shine more considering its a single 12 setup

. I have a skar vvx and the one thing I notice is that it peeks in volume very soon. It handles the wattage but it reaches a certain volume and thn just stops gettin louder around 20 on my deck.

Looking for an equal amount of both sq and spl.

Here's the box and amp I'm working with

Cadence dca 1600 mono amp running 1600 watts at 1ohm. And my box is a single 12 ported box with 1.80 cubes of air space tuned To around 35hz.

Is there a reason why you are getting rid of the VVX? I'm just curious b/c I'm kinda flip flopping on what 12 I want and the VVX is included as one I might get. So is the Level 4 so I'd just like to hear your reasoning. Maybe I can learn something from it.

the skar is awesome, and my biggest regret is not getting 2 of them. i dont want to get another box to run 2 of them so i just kind of thought that getting a sub with a higher rms would make up for the volume and power of my amp. the skar is a great sub and sounds awesome and i stil might get another but im weighing out all my options right now

just looking for a 12 that is known to hold its own by itself
