DC 1.2k vs Sundown SAX-1200d

Opinions on the two? Both are priced relatively the same and both have about the same power output. will be powering an RE sx18d2 in a 2005 Chevy Trailblazer.

I can tell you with certainty the power output is not the same... significantly different designs.

Some of the midwest guys did a comparison -- perhaps they'll chime in.

I take it the Sundown did better? Lol! Are they pretty efficient. Was thinking about trying to run one on stock electrical at 2 ohm. Had 600 @ 2 ohm in the car and didn't have any issues so....

There is a slight price difference, but here is what we found! Doing a head to head test in the lanes, car one firebird with 1 remy g31 battery 2 sax 1200s wired @.5 each rising to 1.7ohms 3210w dropping to 10.8v. Car two was grand prix, with 3g31 batterys on the 2 aq 1200's, wired at .5 each rising to 1.6 we got 2450 dropping to 12.8v. So the sundown sax did put out more than rated (or the aq) at a full 2v less. Make your choice on what fits your budget, and by what you want to get out of what you pay for!

AQ1200, sundown does more then rated but the AQ will still do a bit over. I really like mine

THere also cheaper then a DC1.2 or a sax1200
