Dayton vs eD vs Adire

I just recently sold my 2 shiva mkIV's. I'm looking to replace them with something a little newer/better. Not a big upgrade at all, just a replacement basicly. I can only wire my subs down to 2 ohms also.

I've got my choices down to:

2 ed13kv.2

or

2 dayton dvc 12's

or

2 adire shiva mkV 12's

I've heard the daytons and adires are almost the exact same sub, with the exception that the daytons require smaller boxes. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

You should broaden your horizons a little. ED has been on a downward spiral lately, adire's prices have climbed and the product have fallen a bit. And dayton while a great driver probably won't keep you satisfied.

Look at some soundsplinter products such as the RL-p if you need something loud. Ascendant Audio also has a few great SQ drivers that get pretty ballsy.

I'm thumbs down even more on eD after trying to wall ~magick's eD sub this weekend. 1/2 cycle after it hit the wall power, the former separated from the cone. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Good old Ben and his excelent quality control.

IA 187's are well with in your pricerange. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

ya look into IA death penalty or some Fi woofers, or those soundsplinters....... out of those 3 i'd say dayton but u can probly get somethign better int hat price range outside of those 3

well in the woofer's defence i abused it pretty hard free air before we did that.

and until i accidentally crushed the end of the coil i really liked that sub.

I've only got 600rms total. I was really leaning toward the daytons because of their efficency. I was once told that dual 8 ohm subwoofers were very efficent by design. Am I right or is that not nessecarly true?

Box size is also a bit of a concern for me. I can do 2 cubes net per sub. Will that titanic mkIII fit that size? I had considered this sub before, but I just cannot push it as hard as I'd like.

As an owner both IA 187s and a Shiva MK4, I can mention that my 187s murdered the Shiva in output and had noticably better low end. But since I've never owned a Dayton DVC, I can't give a straight comparison there.
