Dayton Ultimax?

I haven't heard anything about it, I've seen it recommended once, but everyone after it said the HO, how is it? What's the RMS? Is there better to be had for the price? My goals are a mix of output and SQ. I'm replacing my HDC3 15 with a sub, and wanting a new amp too. The HDC3 is too **** loud for me, haha. In my xB I get the worst headaches, no system has ever done that to me.

If it's not the best, what better subs around that range can you think of? Thanks in advance!

The reason the Ref HO keeps getting recommended over the Ultimax is the smaller enclosures required for the HO models. There are a lot of happy people using the HO subs in vehicles.

The Ultimaxs are awesome. They are daytons newest line so I think thats why people recommend the HOs. They are tried and true. Have a friend who put one in a sealed box in a civic running off of 700w and it sounded great.

I've definitely got plenty of room for a big enclosure. My HDC3 is in a huge one. How many cubes would a 10 inch Ultimax want and what tuning?

It hit the lows pretty well? I'm really curious about these subs. Amp recommendations at all?

I have the 15" in my home theater, it's a great sub. They like power and big enclosures.
How's the output? It love the low notes? How big is the enclosure and what tuning?

I thought per the thread at diyma the 10 didn't need (perhaps I should say model) that big of a box. I think it's the 12 that requires quite a bit of space. Not to the point it's a big deal though if you have space to give up

Output is great and it gets lower than you'll ever get on music. My 15 is in a sealed coffee table enclosure just under 4 cubes.

There is plenty of discussions and reviews about Ultimax on DIYMA. One issue with these subs, is that the 12 inch version may require a very large box for a reasonable qtc. The 10 inch one may work well in a reasonably sized box.
