Dayton Reference Mids?

Hello,

I a interested in buying the 7" Dayton Reference Mids, but, I do not know if they will sound good with only 37.5 wrms @ 8 ohms. Would it be better for me to purchase 4 ohm mids?

Can anyone recommend me some mids under $100?

also i just installed my new mids, Seas CA18RLY. 8 ohm drivers. its getting about 42.5 watts off a usamps is4085 and let me tell you, its gets loud. no joke. the seas speaker has clean midrange and good punch in the midbass. i can't truly recommend the dayton because i haven't heard them but from what i've read these are awesome speakers. check out this page, http://206.13.113.199/ncdiyaudio/mark/Testing/testing.htm. look at his reviews for the dayton rs speakers. on par with some high end diy speakers. for $60 for the pair, not bad at all.

yea don't let the 8 ohm drivers scare you, i was quite suprised myself how good my mids sounded. good luck.

skatterbrain5000 on aim has some he was trying to sell for extra cheap -- already debucked...

I have the RS midwoofers and RS tweeters in my car with my passive network and I haven't ever heard a system that I could say sounded better for sure... If it looked a little better I would compete lol... (ugly install)

Oh and in a home environment I like the Dayton RS more than the seas L series... but only very slightly... and personal preference could defiantly adjust this outcome... The RS are rather rich sounding with a smooth midbass while the L series had a little more kick to it -- both very very unforgiving speakers to bad source material...
