Allright, I got some news, fellas. I put on a third coat of black last night, I just didn't take a picture until today. Here's everything ready for the gloss:
Buuut, when I started with the clear, I noticed when it was drying, the gloss shrank.
I got the shift boot cover, cigarette lighter trim ring, and ash tray all painted with gloss before I noticed. Here is a picture of everything together. Notice that the HU panel is still w/o the clearcoat.
I put the shift boot cover in my car to see how it looked. I actually kind of like how it looks in the car with the texture of the dash.
I'm not going to put the clearcoat on the HU panel yet because if I decide that I don't like it, that would be a shitload of sanding. I'm going to re-install everything and drive it for a while to see how I like the crackle that the clearcoat gave me.
No, it isn't a must, but I was just thinking it would be nice to have a protective layer or two. I'm kinda liking the semi-gloss black finish now that I've had it in my car for a while.
Oh, d*mn. I thought I posted some. Here's a pic of everything in:
Yeah, I know my floors are filthy... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif I just like the way shit reflects off the pocket without the crackle on it.
