Dash Makeover Worklog

I noticed after the first coat of primer that I still had a few pinholes so I sanded everything down and did another light coat of primer.

This should be the last primer coat... I hope.

Okay, here's the panel that covers the shift boot. I got it all sanded here:

And here it is primed:

And thanks to the input from anyone who helped me out in the poll. I decided to go with just the black paint, as opposed to the metallic. I'll have pics of the first layer up here in a bit!

Drumroll please...

And last but not least, the HU panel:

I won't be able to put the clear laquer on tonight, I'll do that tomorrow afternoon and I'll have updates ASAP!

Its super mega smooth, except for a little dip in the back of the pocket, which won't matter once its installed. The front panel part is amazing. Probably because I'm awesome... lol //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

so, what technique did you use to sand or what machine, this is my downfall when working with bondo.
I did it all by hand. The sanding sponges help a lot when it comes to hand sanding. Only drawback is the lowest grit they have is 60. On a small project like this, it didn't make too much of a difference, but on a bigger one it would.
