Dammit to hell........

I HAVE BEEN TO COURT OVER THIS, TWO TIMES. THEY TOLD ME IT IS NOT LEGAL FOR THE OFFICER TO SEARCH MY LOCKED GLOVEBOX WITHOUT MY PRIOR CONSENT OR THEY HAVE PROBABLE CAUSE TO DO SO (such as finding weed elsewhere in the car)
OH MY GOD, WHY DO YOU FEEL THE NEED TO TYPE IN ALL CAPITAL LETTERS? IT DOES NOTHING FOR YOUR ARGUMENT.

I agree with this post(except for your horrible idea of probable cause). It does NOT reflect the argument you've been spewing throughout the topic.

Like I've said in every single other post I've made in this topic, if a policeman has probable cause, he can search whatever he wants in your vehicle. I'll give you an example to make this easier to understand.

You're smoking a fat blunt of Sour D with a friend. You make an illegal lane change, and a policeman sees you. You put out the blunt in the ash tray, and hide the blunt and your weed in the glovebox and lock it. Meanwhile, the policeman gets you pulled over, and upon walking up to your window, he smells weed. Immediately, he asks you to step out of the car. He begins searching your car for weed, and finds none on your seats or in your middle console. However, the smell is so strong, he knows you were smoking. He can smell it on your breath. He asks you to open the locked glovebox for him. You refuse because you're a *****. He then opens the locked glovebox, finds the weed, and arrests you.

All of this is legal, and proper procedure.

He didnt have no search warrent...they say they can get one if I resist...thats another 3 hour wait so I just let them search...once they gave me an open container ticket for a beer bottle cap they found under the seat...so anything they can get you for
Either that or they will call a game warden. In Louisiana, game wardens DO NOT need a warrant to search your vehicle! Granted, they will probably search it under the ruse of looking for illegal game then say "oh, by the way, we found X while searching for illegal game" IF they find anything. Regardless, I just want you to be aware of the game warden trick because it is commonly used in the smaller towns to bypass the search warrant process.

EDIT: Here is the authority for the game warden trick: http://www.legis.state.la.us/lss/lss.asp?doc=105379

This whole time I've been talking about texas you retard. And re-read my post. I added more.
No one was talking about Texas. They have their own laws just like every other state.

AND WHAT YOU ADDED STILL HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH LOCKED COMPARTMENTS. "hidden" isnt locked

You're an idiot if your smoking in your car while carrying... obviously thats probable cause to search a locked glove compartment

I get pulled over for speeding. Asks if he can search me. I say no. He does it anyway. Asks if he can search the locked compartment. I say no. He does anyway. Finds weed. Charges me. I get the charges dropped.

Easy as cake.

Anywhere in the passenger compartment includes your glovebox buddy. Whether it's locked or not.

Ok then what state are we talking about then? Ever since my first post about this, I stated what the laws were in Texas

That part was about US Mail. This is about glove box. two totally different situations.
Nope. We were talking about policemen searching everything in your vehicle because of probable cause. In earlier posts, we had already started discussing locked compartments.

He's in Minnesota, and thinks the laws there are different(even though I looked through Article 1, Section 10 of their constitution and found that to be false).

This is where you are 100% wrong. If youre glovebox has no lock, you're **** out of luck.

If its locked, you're good to go unless he illegaly searches it or finds drugs elsewhere

In that case, he didn't have probable cause. I already understand this, and I haven't been arguing with you about this.

I got pulled over for speeding, and had some weed in a CD case attached to my visor; he smelled it, asked me if I had been smoking weed, asked to search the car, I said no, and was sent on my way.

Keep telling yourself that.

Without any proof.

Like I said, it's not true here. If you give consent to search then they can, only if you don't give them consent to search it is when they cannot (without probable cause)

Of course you can tell them not to search it, but when they ask you "Do you mind if search your vehicle?" and you say "no", you have just given them consent to search your whole vehicle. Now if you were to say "No I don't mind, except for the glovebox", they cannot search it since you did not give them consent.

This is all without probable cause of course.

Well that *****.

Here, if given consent to search my car, they can only searched unlocked compartments and thats it. I'm not looking for a ******* statute because I know thats how it goes here.

Then you have been arguing about nothing that I don't already know

You don't have to search, because I already did. If you give them consent to search your car, or if they have a reason to believe there's something in your locked glovebox, they can do so.

Nope. If they have no reason to search my locked **** they aint gettin in. And if they go in anyway, its gettin dropped and its a waste of court money and time.

Here's where you're too retarded to read.

Notice in my post, I said if they HAD a reason. In yours, you said if they DON'T. If you're too retarded to understand positive and negative, I don't think I'm going to continue talking to you.
