Damaged tweeter replacement

Hi all. I have a set of kicker ks650.2 splits and one of my tweeters is damaged. Can I replace the tweeters with a set of alpine type r tweeters alpine sps-10tw?

You can replace it if the same ohm load for your crossover ...unless active but you need to run a matched pair ...not two different

Ok cheers. They are both 4ohm and passive. One question about wiring - the alpine sps-10tw comes with its own set of crossovers - are they needed or do I just wire the alpine tweeter direct to the kicker crossover tweeter output?

The model you have there is for the type s. A little bit lesser quality but prob still ok

Should be the same way as the old ones. There's a passive crossover that the woofer and tweet hook too correct?

The kicker crossover I have has 'input' 'tweeter' 'woofer' terminals which I understand. The alpine spr-10tw set has a crossover with it with 'input' and 'tweeter'. Do I run a wire from the kicker xo 'tweeter' output to the 'input' of the alpine xo or run a wire from kicker xo 'input' to the 'input' of the alpine xo. Or just do away with the alpine xo and just run the tweeter wire straight to the 'tweeter' terminal on the kicker xo? Sorry for the long question, I'm relatively new to this and don't want to damage the speaker. Cheers

You can hold on to them. But for what your doing you don't need them.

I went with Pioneer Ts-t110's when one of my PPI tweeters took a dump. They were one of the few that fit the larger than normal holes in my sail panels, plus I only paid like $25 for them. I just left the in-line xover on just to be safe and wired them to PPI xover. I'm still running them now instead of the ones that came with my IA comps. I'm running active now, but I left the in-line xover on the tweeters for a little insurance until I get the hang of the tuning.
