How did it all turn out with UPS, bjfish11? Did they take care of you or come up with more excuses to blame you, the shipper, mother nature, termites eating the packaging contents, etc...

From what I know the shipper has to file the claim. Were thet insured through UPS? I think $100 is automatic & anything above that must be purchased.

I work at a shipping company (NOT UPS thank you!)

The shipper only files the claim up until the point that the consignee has received and signed for the freight. At such time the consignee (person receiving the package) is responsible. You need to speak with their claims/OS&D department and advise them you found "CONCEALED DAMAGE" after the package was opened....take pictures of the crate/box it was delivered in...you can never have to many pictures...this will help you prove mis-handling by the carrier. Ok, Ill update you so the thread can die...i guess...

UPS fuked me.

UPS said, improper packaging, but it was packaged properly, just improperly handled by the shipping company.

To reneeb, it was NOT concealled damage. They were signed damaged by my dad per the UPS driver.

I ended up sending the one for a new basket and recone, cost me over $200. The other one, I sealed up with some gorilla glue (small hole in cone).

To sum it up, everyone boycott UPS, and use DHL.
