nope, not like that. but there is a very strong code of respect in many black homes (dunno about whites, asians, hispanics and whoever else because i don't live there //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif ) and some lines are just not crossed w/o repurcussions. but just so that people understand what i mean a bit more, next time you go to a restaurant and see kids running around on tables and chairs, look at what the parents are doing. usually nothing if you have time to notice it. look at all the books on raising the perfect child. not many written by african americans because many of us (i'm speaking for my family and friends only, so dont use this as a point) know that there are certain things that your parents are, and that you are not. you don't talk back, you don't yell and scream. if you do, then many people have noticed no doubt "GET OVER HERE!" or things like that. it is just disgracing the family in a way

*shakes head* w/e..me stating a real-life everyday event pretaining to the argument is irrelevant...

irrelevant would be telling someone to read something to disprove their theory, then when that person asks for some material from that book, assuming the other person actually read it (why else would they suggest it)...the other person has no idea of any of its content.

By the way, I was curious Lemans... have you read all the how-to parenting books? Have you researched them or something? How would you know that not many African-American's write them? Just one of those guesses like the 1/4 mile?

see the difference is, steve was actually joking. you are taking it seriously. and yes the only way i know that is because back when i was in grade/middle school, they would have these things called PSN which is parenting specialist night. they would do it about every month. they would have an author or a specialist of each general topic come and give a talk and do these scenarios. out of the ridicuous amount that me and my dad had to endure, at least 80% were not black. now is it possible that there are more? of course it is. i'm just going on what i have experienced. judging by bookjackets on barnes and noble, i am not mistaken though.
