Cvrs louder than SSDs?????

shananaginz i say!!!!
my ssd's got hella louder in a ported box. had them in a built to spec seald box before they got ported... i like the ported way beter
x2 my SSD is a beast in its ported box.

a buddy of mine bought 2 12" cvrs and had them on a DEI 1100d(i think) and my 1 15 SSD was quite a bit louder

Yes yes yes i know they SHOULD be louder but right now there not once i start turnin up the gain my amp just turns off and there not even louder and arent moving that much so i have no idea whats going on or what im doing wrong i just wanna she how loud they can become lol it gets fustrating

as for a bad amp i ordered it new... or atleast it said it was new lol but is there anyway i can check if its bad its a kicker zx1500.1

Hey i use to have 2 (dual 2)12" kicker cvrs running off of a zx750.1 now i have 2 (dual 2)12" FI ssds running of a zx1500.1 and my cvrs are louder then my ssds, the ssds are in a 4 cube ported box tuned to 32hz. My electrical is a 200a EA alt, Yellowtop under the hood. Ive got 10guage speaker wire, 1/0 power/ground wire.
When i try to set the gains using the gain setting tutorial i dont get any voltage reading from my dmm so i try and set it by ear and the subs just stop playing when the subs arent moving that much. Im not sure whats going on. Im almost positive i hooked the subs up to read a 2ohm load i remember goin gfrom the positive from amp to positive to sub to positive to the other sub (same thing with negative) then doing the positive to negative on one sub then i did it to the other. I have no idea whats going on My amp is a little warm could that be the reason? If so how do i fix it? I really want this system working. If you need pics of anything ill be glad to take em!
I would say that would be a problem with the amp. Do you know if it goes into protect.

Well i just went out to see what was happining and hopefully get lucky, well i was observing what was happing and the green led would go off and i belive it turns red if its going into protect, maybe it might be a ground issue or power wire issue should i try reconnecting it and making sure my ground is nice and secure?

If you hook the meter up to the amp and it isn't reading any ac voltage then the problem is not the subs. You are using a test tone for setting the dmm correct?

yes i was using a 60hz -3db test tone, i had the car running had the subs disconnected and had the leads of the dmm going first into the negative the one negative and one positive and then positive and got nothing from anything

well i think i fixed it but its still pretty strange because i switched the positive and negative speaker wires on the amp and it seemed to do the trick even though before it made sense that they were in the right spot but now its seems to be working
