This guy that hooks me up with deals is gonna do my trunk. I told him I didnt want a lot of rattling and he said no problem, I'll build you a bandpass box and port it through your rear deck or somethin so there will be no trunk rattles. He said he's done these before and that he knows the right way to do bandpass enclosures with dimensions and all of that. I do trust the guy he knows a lot. He said that he wants to put 2 12" kicker CVRs in the bandpass enclosure and I mentioned I was looking at a 12" RE SE and he said the sound quality wouldn't be much different. You think the CVRs would sound good in the bandpass? They would be getting around 6-800 together. Or, he said he could do 2 10" kicker solobarics in the bandpass. Which would sound better? Thanks.

I don't think they are, unless the box is made and tuned for the sub you're using. I think I read it in a sticky. Oh, and also, he said that there are only 2 large companies that actually make subwoofers, MA Audio and JBL/Harmon Kardon. Is this true? Does this mean Resonant Engineering doesn't make their own stuff? I'm confused.

RE used to use the Destijl buildhouse...not sure if they do anymore.

And 4th order BP boxes can sound better than regular bass reflex ones, but the learning curve is much, much steeper for construction. And 6th order BP's sound like wet farts.
