Here's what i am working with:

Alpine CDA-9835

1 15"MA Audio EHO152 (2500rms/5000max rated)

Orion HCCA-D5000 (2500rms/5000max rated)

0 Gauge

Yellow Top Front

C&D 93AH Back

Stock 135A Alternator

Alright, I have set me gains to whey are needed, but my amp still cuts out/goes into protect mode at not even 3/4 volume if played for 5+ seconds. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Everything is wired correctly. What could be the cause of this problem so I can begin checking?

Thanks-a-bunch!

I don't think it has anything to do with grounds because it was even going into protect when i was setting my gains at the same volume. Any ideas??

this was recently happened with my headunit(alpine) .. if id go over a certain volume it would cut out and come up with an error .. so i looked in the manual and it said" Malfunction occured as a result of the speaker cable shorting on the car chassis"..... so i found my problem and it wound up being that .. so maybe by chance that could be your problem.. you might have an exposed wire/ wire connector touching the car

i had a similar problem when i first set my stereo up. i would turn it up and the amp would shut off after about 5 seconds. couldnt figure it out for the longest time, ended up being a bad ground. check your grounds.

goes into protect even at low volume or only at high volume.

If at high volume only, does it do it faster with more power (volume)?

But if the sub amp goes into protect then its could be a power issue,

not enough voltage. Or a wiring issue, speaker cable short.

Or you amp is partially blown like mine, lets hope not...

Temprature issue is possible too, but i'd think you would notice that

it over heats.

look at had this problem for months and when i figured it out, it was the most simplest fix....as mentioned earlier, MAKE SURE ITS WIRED RIGHT. yea, yea, I know you checked that, but check it again because it doesn't hurt. also check your fuses to make sure that they are not disconnecting and then reconnecting...i have also experienced that problem and had to buy new fuses that made a better fit.

I checked everything and tightened a ground some more but it still seems to be doing it. I set my gains again and for some reason the amp goes into protect mode without the subs even hooked up and i am not clipping it according to the charts. this seems to rule out something loose due to vibrations. next im going to take out the HU so see the voltage it is putting out and that all wired are covered.

voltage doesn't seem to drop past 12v before it cuts out. i'm thinking HU as of right now, but who knows
