first off i am sick of the rattle from my subs and have dynomatted the entire trunk.

i was wondering if i could cut through the decking where the square holes are (lateral to the speakers) to vent between the trunk and the interior of the car to increase airflow and potentially reduce rattle... has anybody done it? would it work?

here is my audio system. 1000 watts @ 2 ohm into two planet audio 12's. 110 watts x 4 going into four infinity kappa 6 x 8's ran together with planet audio tweeters.

yea, it is a fold down, and i am replacing the speakers at the same time.

are there any other ideas? i do want to retain my rear seat and its functionality.

Are your rear speakers completely sealed off from the trunk? If not either do that first or ditch the rears. Otherwise undesirable results happen when bass tries to go through speakers.

the magnet of the speaker goes down into the trunk, but they mount from the top, so they should be sealed off... right?

i apologize for my ignorance.

i did it to mine and it stopped some rattlign of the deck and seemed to be louder to the ear.

is that something i will have to worry about?

If you can see the magnet they arent sealed off. And IMO it is definitely something to worry about. It can kill your rear speakers and make them sound like crap all the while muffling your trunk bass.
