installing door speakers

Gotta quick question. when you install door speakers in your car do you wire directly to the amp and have no assosication with wiring in the HU? I had a shop installed my front speakers and saw they had them wired up to the HU and the amp. But then when i install my rear speakers i just wired straight to the amp. Anyone know why they would run wires up to my HU?

The shop probably left the stock wires to behind the deck and just extended them from there back to your amp instead of running all new wires... Unless you only have a 2ch amp in back and you wired rear speakers to that amp and left the front on the deck but that would be dumb.. You have a 4ch right?

yea 4 channel so whats ur sayings is they got the stock wires ran them to the 4 channel then ran another set to the crossover?

They probably used them as line inputs. Did they use RCA's?

They ran all the speaker wires back to the 4ch amp.. They just started at the stock wires behind the deck and extended them back to the amp. Then they used the rca outputs from the deck and ran rcas from the deck to the crossover then to your amp.

It's easier to tap into the speaker leads behind the head unit than to try to snake new wires through the door. They used the quickest method invloving the least amount of work... not neccesarily the best method, but probaly the way most shops would do it unless you specificy otherwise.
