Will probably make a difference on the power you want to hit them with. I know most of the Kicker subs have specs for lower power and low bass or more power with a deep bass design.

It's def worth it if your serious about your system. I just showed a couple of my teammates my "L" series comp box from Dave and we all say the same thing....you can't duplicate this mans work. Tell him what you want for you ride and he WILL exceed your expectations.
Never underestimate the power of a smaller sub, a pair of 10's will get crazy loud, four 8's have the potential to get louder, in the right enclosure.
