custom made my own ported box..few question about my error.

Each having its own chamber does not prolong the life of your woofer. You DO want to provide some bracing to prevent much box flex, but that is the only thing a chamber will help. Are you sure you only have 17 x 15 x 32? That is a weird shaped box. If you do, I think you're going to have to go with a weird port too I guess.

for a 17 x 15 x 32 box I would do this. Here is your cut sheet for 3/4 inch mdf.

Baffles: 15 x 32

Bottom: 15 x 32

Sides: 30.5 x 15.5

Front/Back: 15 x 15.5 ( the side your port is going on should actually be 15 x 12.5)

Then just cut a board 23.25" long and that is your port length.

Seal it all up and here is what you have:

3.69ft^3 gross

port volume: .59

24" of physical port length

40.5"^2 of port area

net volume 2.80ft^3

and your tuning freq should be about 33hz.

thanks for the input ecrack.net .keep in mind im tryin to use 4 12" hx2 punch subs. that measurement doesnt give me enough space to put 4 12" in them.

here's another demension i have available space if relocated the amp rack.

44" W X 15" H x 31 " L.

the sub will have to be facing UPWARD. the port facing the same direction as well.

i was thinking what if i take this plan.

if i shrink the width from 38.25 down to 30.25 (-8) and raise the height from 13" to 21" (+8).

build two of these OR but combine two of them together and this should net me 4 cu ft3 box ported to 35hz.

is this possible?

as in take accurate measurements, give a definatel net volume wanted, and tuning freq desired, so we can go somewhere with this other that putting two boxes in your trunk

as state in my other post im looking to make 35 hz with 4 12" hx2 subs. i want deep and im tryin to beat harder than 4 15" kicker CVR seal box easily. there's a chance he's upgrading into 4 15" ported in a wagon car. mine will be in a trunk. i know i MIGHT not stand a chance but i want to be pretty fukin loud that it sound like 8 12" seal in my trunk or better. i want to impress all the bass head. i want the most i can get out of them. i dont abuse them daily but i like to crank it up at times and at battles. I WANT MY DASH TO VIBRATE LOOSE. I WANT THE PRESSURE TO HIT SO HARD THAT I CANT GRAB ANY AIR WITH MY HEALTHY NON SMOKING LUNGS. I WANT STEVE MADEN TO SHAKE MY HAND AND SAY WOW DUDE! i want obama to say "WHAT THE **** IS THAT NOISE?" while he's in washington and im in florida. i want to SHAKE THE GRAVE of MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. CASKET TO WAKE HIM UP FROM HIS DREAM.

so you guys know what i want. you may not be able to satisfy me in EVERY WAY i want possible but give me your best.

lol couldnt help it. a few reply of "WHAT YOU WANT?" and i just lost it. haha but jokes aside i pretty much wanna go as loud as possible and i was told i cant go anything below 35hz or i could cause damage to the sub.

Port breathing through the rear seats. Build it in the car drop the back seats slide the box in and seal it off from the trunk cut a little out of the rear deck. If you need to cut a little of excess frame cut it but you should have enough room id imagine to slide it in one way or another. One of these guys up there can help you with the box. Buy a box design they arent expensive and r easy to follow.
