custom gas lid

i was looking into making my gas lid out of lexan then smoking it..idk if anyone has seen it i think it looks good so please dont post if ur going to flame about it. But i was wondering if anyone has worked with lexan if they have any tips. I have read to laminate it right away and use a propane tank with a torch to heat it up to get the bends on the gas lid and use a roto zip to cut the lexan be very careful because it scratches easy.

K time for the question how would i round off the corners smoothly?

might be a cool idea, what color is your car. You might be able to use a router to round the corners off.

its black cherry pearl..some call it purple some call it burgundy...its still BCP to me. its a dark color

how would you attach an arm to go to the hinge mechanisim? The flap part is easy but what about the arm/hinge assembly?

Just use a Dremel with the sanding drum attatchment to round the corners. Smooth with lighter grit sand paper. Take the flame to make the edge smooth as glass.
