Custom Fused/Distro block - Copper or Aluminum?

Thanks to MECA, I need to make a fuse block. Thinking about getting a few blocks of material and drilling them out, but which is better to use, copper or aluminum? Also, would I need to drill these out with a drill press or would I be alright just using a corded drill?

i'd think copper would be the better conductor of the two. if you have access to a drill press then i'd use that, but if not, just use the drill. just keep the tip oiled.

edit: after seeing the pics, i'd do aluminum too due to pricing.

Those D-blocks look very familiar. Look like a USACi competitors blocks.

Can't justify the cost for one time use and I still need to buy a table saw.

I just remembered that Home Depot rents out tools, so I may rent one from them.

Yeah Bryan (Nomad 40) has some nice D-blocks. and yes, he has a mill...even with a drill press you wont get the precision that those blocks have. You might want to contact him, he might be willing to sell some, though they are pricy, but worth it. I know he had some for sale on the USACi forum.

I have in the past but I figure since aluminum blocks aren't that expensive, I may as well make them myself.
