Custom Crossovers

Does anyone build crossovers, or has the capability to deisgn them and show me step-by-step what to do? I am soliciting an offer, but because it is a service and not a product, it is not in the WTB.

I'd just go ahead and buy a DCX2496, they will be in stock at the end of this month and theyre only $250. Theyve got 4-way xovers, 48dB slopes, and all the equalization you'll ever need.

It's kind of upper-end isn't it? I don't know if I could even figure out out to use all the features, heh.

I was thinking of doing a TMW tower powered by a Behringer A500. That is why I needed the crossovers. I don't think this would really help because it would require more than one amp.

I'd contact Dylan @ OlogyAudio...he could give you a detailed schematic if you wanted to build one yourself, or just build a set for you...

Just get a set of passives designed by someone who knows wtf they are doing, don't go the route of the DCX2496.

I tried to solder one time, but it kept on evaporating. Do you heat the solder or the wire?

You heat both, the solder bonds to the wire.

That looks pretty easy to solder.

I just priced the parts and its kind of expensive. Much more expensive than I thought anyways.

I figure I can buy the prefab for $45 and not worry about it. I only really go DIY if you can improve cost/performance.

I actually drew my own possible crossover and I will post pics later.

Here is what I was looking at using that crossover from Parts Express

Crossover 260-150 x2

Woofer 295-366 x4

Mids 264-422 x2 (need much better reccomendation here, something good from 375-3000hz

tweeter 264-578 x2

all powered by a Behringer A500

I can get all this from PE for $571.53 shipped.

You think that is a better plan than trying to pay someone to build the crossover for me? Would someone do it for less than $50? It seems it cost that much in parts alone.
