I have a dual stack Y35 motor that has been refinished along with a brand new 4 spoke 12” frame I can build into a 3” coil beast. I only have parts to do one of these unfortunately. The sub would be perfect in compact to medium sealed enclosures of 1.25-1.75 cubic feet or ported enclosures from 1.75-2 cubic feet. Would also be 4th order friendly. It will easily take 1200w rms (1500 rms no issue) with ease being conservative. Would be mathematically calculated to 26 mm of xmax, have a 3” dual 2 ohm copper coil with high temp coating from precision econo wind with aramid sheet wrapped collar, nomex spiders with dual sewn leads good to well beyond 2800w rms, non pressed pulp cone with Kevlar infused and extra tall round surround with stitching, 8ga direct CCA leads, 6” carbon fiber dust cap, and motor to frame spacers for additional cooling. Motor to frame connection would be studded using 12.9 grade hardware with stainless steel flange nuts. Would have excellent sq and be capable of getting loud as well. Would take 4 weeks or less before it ships as I’m currently building a bunch of 15’s but can easily do this along with them. The only thing I do not have is a 12” gasket which really isn’t needed. $265 shipped for anyone who is interested in the lower 48 states. If you want to upgrade to a flat aluminum wire coil that can be done for $30 more. This would increase power handling, slightly increase xmax but would lower BL a tad. A round aluminum wire coil could also be used with similar benefits to the flat wire without lowering the BL. It would come at a slight loss of power handling. If you know that a ported setup is all this sub would ever see, let me know as I will upgrade the spiders for free! You will give up a little bit of efficiency and low end. Remember, there is always trade offs.
