Current events discussion

I'll try to make it simple for you:
California sends the Feds $692 BILLION a year.
California gets back $416.4 BILLION from the Fed per year.
That means California is still "owed" $275.6 BILLION from the Feds.

They are in a budget deficit because they spent more than budgeted, NOT because they can't afford to exist.
First off, you conversation was about what states spend the most on government assistant programs. NOT who pays the most in taxes. I know your brain can't handle the stress of keeping up with the conversation. I mean your liberalness just keeps showing through and through.

Second, research where that federal money goes. You will see why they need to pay those taxes. I know you're a big boy, so I know you can figure it out on your own.

To simplify it for your basic mind: You make $100 per week. You budget $20 each week for savings that you do not want to touch, but have a bill that eats up your other $80, so you have to take $10 from the savings. That means you are in a budget deficit.
This does NOT mean you can't afford to live. It simply means you are spending your own money that was earmarked for savings. You know, a BUDGET.

Is that still too complicated a concept for you?
What's complicated to me is thinking that someone who consistently spends more money on new programs is normal, in your eyes. I'm not sure if YOU understand what a budget is. You cannot sustain a strong budget if you keep looking for ways to spend your money. I you can't afford a new car, will you still buy one?

If that is what you call a proper budget, I guess that's why you're broke and I have a pretty cushy lifestyle.

That's a weird way to say that you have no factual information that supports your claims.
You could have just been honest and said you are empty-handed.
Seriously, dude? A typical lib who lives under a rock and refuses to hear the facts that proves their party is going to crap.

Google this "did more republicans switch parties than democrats."
Also Google "Per capita, what US state has the most people leaving it."

Based on recent data, California has the highest absolute number of people leaving, with a net loss of over 250,000 residents to other states in 2024. However, when considering the highest per capita rate of out-migration, states like New York, New Jersey, and Illinois often rank higher due to their smaller population sizes relative to the massive number of departures.
Key insights on U.S. migration patterns:
  • Top Absolute Outflow: California consistently leads in the total number of people leaving, driven by high housing costs and taxes.
  • High Per Capita Outflow: According to 2020-2024 Census data, New York had a very high rate of net domestic out-migration per 1,000 inhabitants, frequently exceeding California's per capita rate.
  • Top Drivers: The primary reasons for leaving these states are high taxes, high cost of living, and a desire for more space.
  • Destination States: People leaving California and New York are primarily moving to states with lower taxes and lower costs of living, such as Texas, Florida, and Idaho.
Now I see why you're always crying.

So it WAS too complicated for you. What pays for welfare programs? Taxes?
Who collects taxes? The government. When more taxes are collected than spent, what happens? Surplus.

The Fed gov't gets surplus taxes from California that are disbursed to states other than California. That makes California a "donor state".

Any state that gets back more than it gives is a "taker state" or a "welfare state".
FFS, it's really NOT that difficult.
Did you ever learn about finances, economics, or even simple budgeting in school, or were you out sick those years?

Second, research where that federal money goes. You will see why they need to pay those taxes. I know you're a big boy, so I know you can figure it out on your own.
It goes to the taker states that can't self-sustain. Do you want to see the list again?

"Spends more money on new programs". TF are you babbling about?
You can't sustain a budget if you spend money?
If you don't spend money, then a budget isn't even a necessity.

Did you have a liquid lunch and dinner today, or something?

If that is what you call a proper budget, I guess that's why you're broke and I have a pretty cushy lifestyle.
What did I describe as a "proper budget"? Can you quote it so I know what TF you are talking about?

The same non-argument from a typical right-winger who HAS no argument to offer.
Why not just post MAGA! and a stupidazz picture of the Orange Idiot a dozen times? It would be as strong an argument as anything you've posted so far.

Done.

This was in July 2025. More recently, polls show 60% of the country views Trump unfavorably.
Probably not what you were hoping to prove, I bet.

The second Google result has nothing to do with the massive exodus of business that you referenced.
Can you try to stay focused and remember your own posts, for at least a post or two?

Where does this prove the massive exodus of businesses you described?
What does it have to do with the fact that California gets back less from the Feds than it gives to the Feds each year, on the order of $275.4 Billion dollars? $275.4 BILLION dollars that funds the red taker states who can't self-sustain without money from all the donor states?
Now I see why you're always crying.
Huh?

Is that a weak attempt at saying that pointing out the endless failures of Trump and the Republitards is "crying"?
Similar to calling it "deranged"?

Interesting, coming from people who voted for and idolize a 34x convicted felon, r@pist, racist, tax cheat, pathological liar, se*xual predator.

Democrats would never do such a thing..

How many times you been knocked up Rawbut?

None. Which is why I have no right to tell a woman what she should or should not do with her body.
Will you be OK with it when a woman decides what you can or cannot do with your body?

Maybe you get a benign tumor on your face, and women decide you should not get the surgery.
You good with that?
How about prostate cancer, but they decide it's not worth the money to extend your life by 5 years?
Cool?
