Exactly and at some point war will break and we won't be able support our needs because of our reliance on China
A lot of global inflation is due to global reliance on China for manufacturing. It's the height of stupidity for us to have open markets for China while they restrict our access to theirs. I'm glad the Biden Administration able to see the folly in such an arrangement. When the economy implodes from the tariffs, I'm blaming Biden. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I've had hydroponically grown vegetables and as far as I'm concerned they tasted no different than soil grown. Most of what we perceive as taste is all in our heads 😂

So us getting cheap goods from China because they pay their workers a lot less than our workers could EVER survive on, is "dry ******* us in the ***"? Seems that WE are the ones winning in that game.
We get cheap goods, and we get to continue underpaying our workers.

We're not winning when we are paying to build China's military. We're not winning when we've built up China's economy (and military) to the point that they're leveraging their position to try and undermine American interests (BRICs in particular).

The cycle can continue because populations will always grow, and we will always want the most for the least.

OK. Then my plan to pay people here a living wage and then in-shore all manufacturing is perfectly reasonable.
We don't get to dictate law in other countries, unless you become the supreme leader of the world, like in your "take care of America" plan.

Populations are not continuing to grow. Look up replacement rate - in particular S. Korea & Japan.

Then my plan to pay people here a living wage
That's a dog whistle as minimum wage rises so do the cost of goods. Leaving the minimum wage earner no closer to the "living wage". The only ones that benefit from the so called "living wage" is the ones collecting the taxes...

Let's raise the minimum wage from $7.25 to $14.50.
How much you wanna bet that something that cost $50 will suddenly cost $100+

FFS I paid $120+ for an oil change on a 4cyl!!!! Something that not so long ago was like $50
When I was making $5.15hr (minimum wage at the time) I could buy a pack of bar s hotdogs and 2 boxes of macaroni & cheese for between $1-1.25 total...
