Kind of like how the right lost their minds when Target had pride-friendly merchandise, and wanted to shut them down, and threatened their workers? The post I quoted. I'm going to say burning charging stations counts as "losing their freaking minds." You're welcome to pretend it's about the "WAY" the waste is being eliminated, personally, I think it's more about who is doing the eliminating and what is being eliminating. I suspect if it was Sleepy Joe eliminating "wall" spending, they could care less how it was accomplished.
Kind of like how they lost their minds when Bud Light used a ***** person in their advertising, including bomb threat direct to Anheuser Busch?
Kind of like how they lose their minds and physically attack women and workers at abortion clinics?
Or is that all a "good" way to "lose their minds"?
So defunding education that doesn't fit your personal narrative is good. The reason the GOP is cutting funding to education is because, my school district for example spends $15k/student/yr and the fawking kids still can't read, do math, etc. But they sure did a great job explaining to the students why the ICE raids are scary while skipping over the fact that those raids took guns, drugs, gangsters and other bad folks off the streets. Ironically, the one-sided education occurred in a college prep classs, thus making it oddly appropriate. Even more ironic, is the "ICE Raid Education" is about the most "college" thing they've done. Kinda crazy how they're able to teach the concepts they want to get across, but fail to teach the basics.
What kind of test do they give to confirm the kids retained the information they were "taught" about ICE raids?
Do they also test the kids to see what they retained from their Active Shooter lessons?
Why are we paying for those lessons? Why are we paying to have Bibles brought back into public schools?
Religious indoctrination is good, but it's bad to tell kids that they should not be ashamed of who they are?
My apologies. I read your phrasing as "why would I support UH" when it seems you are asking why you should support it if the left doesn't feel Musk and DOGE are an appropriate way to "handle waste".Have I not always championed Universal Healthcare on here? When have I ever said or implied the poor shouldn't be covered? What I don't want to do is pay taxes for healthcare only to find it's being wasted on a bunch of leftist social & cultural issues. I don't want to pay FICA only to find out the system is full of grift. I don't want to pay $300 for toilet seats in the Pentagon. But lets all worry about the "way" we eliminate that stuff.
Have we seen proof that Musk (who may or may not be running DOGE, depending on what Trump says or what his lawyers tell Congress) and his crew have actually eliminated waste by driving down the cost charged to the government for toilet seats and the like (which, BTW is the government's own fault for a variety of reasons, not limited to requiring insane standards for everyday items, paying more than retail to support US manufacturing, etc, etc).
I know they've made great claims of billions and billions saved, but who is auditing THEM? I'd like to see a very detailed writeup of what they "saved" and how they "saved" it.
Sorry, but stealing money back from a state after Congress legally appropriated it to them is not "saving" money. It's stealing it. Why not take back a few billion from Lockheed, Boeing, or any other of the suppliers of military hardware, since they overcharge us for stuff? Take back a few billion from Blackwater or Haliburton, since they are involved in scandals that make the US look bad? How about the money given to foreign companies to build business here, and then they decided not to? Why not just freeze the assets of every Russian oligarch and put it in our pocket?
Stealing is OK. Right?
